Pricing that respects indie math
Simple event-based plans, cheaper than anyone comparable. Start free, with no credit card, and stay free until you are genuinely bigger than the free tier.
Free to 100,000 events a month, then $4.99 for a million. The once-a-minute presence ping that powers "active right now" is most of your traffic and it never counts - which is why the free tier goes further here than the number suggests.
Your charts never expire on any plan. The paid tiers buy you a bigger event allowance and a longer window for browsing individual events.

What counts as an event
An event is an install, a session, or a signal you track yourself. Three things that travel over the same wire are deliberately never billed:
Presence pings (heartbeats). The once-a-minute "still here" ping the SDK sends while your app is open. It powers "active right now" and session lengths, it is most of the raw traffic by volume, and it never counts against your plan. On a real app in our own fleet it was 37% of everything sent.
User labels. identify and reset attach a name
or an email to an install. They are metadata, not activity, so they are free.
That is the whole reason the free tier goes further than 100,000 sounds like it should: the chatty part of app analytics is the part we do not charge for.
Going over your plan
Nothing breaks and nothing is deleted the moment you cross the line. You keep recording for 7 days, or until 25% past the cap - whichever comes first - with a banner in the dashboard the whole time. Past that, billable events stop being stored until the month resets. Presence and session lengths keep working throughout, so "active right now" never goes dark.
Your history is not the thing at risk. Going over stops new billable events being stored. It never deletes what you already have, and it never touches your charts, totals or cohorts.
Paid plans can move up instead of stopping. If you are over your plan two months in a row, we move you up one tier at your next renewal - never mid-cycle, never more than one step, and never past Max. The higher limit applies at once; the higher price starts at the renewal you were already going to be charged on. It is on by default, it is written above the pay button at checkout, the dashboard tells you a month ahead, and one switch in Plan & billing turns it off - in which case the grace-then-pause rule above applies.
Event history vs your charts
These are two different things and only one of them has a window.
Event history is how far back you can browse individual events, funnels and session stories - 90 days on Free, up to 12 months on the paid tiers.
Your charts never expire. Daily numbers, totals, retention cohorts and per-user counts are kept for as long as the account exists, on every plan, including Free. Downgrading does not drop you off a cliff either: if you move to a smaller plan, the old, longer window is held for a further 30 days before it tightens.
Questions
What counts as an event?
An install, a session, or a signal you track yourself. The once-a-minute presence ping the SDK
sends while your app is open does not count, and neither do user labels (identify and
reset). Presence is most of the raw traffic and it is free by design.
What happens if I go over my plan?
You keep recording for 7 days, or until 25% past the cap, whichever comes first, with a banner the whole time. Past that, billable events stop being stored until the month resets. Presence and session lengths keep working, so "active right now" never goes dark. On a paid plan, two months over in a row moves you up one tier at your next renewal instead (auto-upgrade, on by default, one switch to turn off).
Do my charts disappear when the history window ends?
No. Event history is how far back you can browse individual events, funnels and session stories. Your daily numbers, totals, retention cohorts and per-user counts are kept for as long as the account exists, on every plan including Free.
How many apps can I add?
Up to 20 per account, on every plan including Free. Each app gets its own write key and its own dashboard.
Is tax included in the price?
No. Prices are in USD and exclude VAT or sales tax. Stripe is the merchant of record and adds your local tax at checkout, so the amount you pay may be higher than the amount shown here.
Can I change plan later?
Yes, from the dashboard, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately and are invoiced straight away, prorated for the part of the period you have already paid for. Downgrades credit the difference against your next invoice.
Does my event count start over when I change plan?
No. Events are counted per calendar month (UTC) and the count carries over when you change plan: an upgrade raises the ceiling at once, it does not start a fresh month. At 90,000 of Free's 100,000 on the 20th and moving to Indie, you are at 90,000 of 1,000,000 until the 1st, when the count starts again from zero on every plan. It always resets on the 1st, whatever day your plan renews on.

Two lines of Swift or Kotlin, no credit card, and 100,000 events a month that presence pings never eat into.
